The end-of-year holidays can be a landmine of triggers, uncomfortable questions and grief.

We hope this helps to bolster each of us with some strategies to make it easier for us to gather with friends, colleagues and family.

Introducing Our Blog:

No One Is Talking About It

Parental Alienation is the public health crisis no one is talking about. And silence only creates more violence.

That's why I believe in spreading the word about how PA works, the effect it has on everyone, including children into adulthood, the targeted parent and all the extended family.

Personally, I discovered that once I started being more public and talking to people about what had happened, often the first reaction is "I know someone that this is happening to."

At first I was shocked that this kept happening. Then I started to question, maybe the term Parental Alienation is new and the clinical research recent, but the phenomenon, that coercive control within families has been an unspoken tragedy for countless generations.

Historically speaking, the prevalency of divorce is what is new. Including the family legal court system, which was created out of criminal court, that turns the ending of marriages into adversarial win-lose decisions instead of peaceful resolutions with healthy outcomes for children and parents.

There is so much to unpack.

I look forward to your participation in the coming year as we grow, learn and become a community of parents, children, clinicians and legal professionals who wish to increase transparency and understanding around the complex and counter-intuitive issue of Parental Alienation.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Rourke
